Podcasting
Podcasting means something different to everyone. To some, it’s a source for news or compelling, intimate storytelling. To others, it’s a source of entertainment or humor. For me, podcasting is all of these things, and my experience reflects this. I have experience in hosting, producing and editing multiple kinds of podcasts: informative interviews, conversational entertainment and news updates.
I host, produce and edit a weekly entertainment podcast about movies, TV, music, celebrity culture and more. Since starting a personal podcast in 2017, I have published a new episode every week and earned more than 30,000 total plays. I serve as the lead producer for Vox Voice, the interview-based podcast from Columbia, MO, publication Vox Magazine. From inception to release, I consulted on the show’s format, design and release structure. Full seasons release twice a year so listeners can binge episodes as they please. I edit episodes and develop promotional campaigns for each season. For example, for our mini first season, I produced an audio teaser and a commercial for social media and helped plan a launch party.
KBIA-FM (NPR): “Dark Money” True/False Podcast
I produced this 30-minute podcast for KBIA-FM, the NPR affiliate of Columbia, Missouri. One of our city’s most impressive events is the True/False Film Fest, an annual documentary film festival. KBIA-FM hosts a podcast that focuses on the filmmakers from True/False and the stories behind their films. This podcast is about director Kimberly Reed and her film “Dark Money.” I produced the interview, wrote the script and edited the full show, all on a tight one-week deadline.
