The Game Awards 2024 Predictions

Gaming’s big night is this week, and the brothers (hopefully) know what’s going to happen in the battle between Astro Bot, Balatro, and a bunch of RPGs. They predict three fun announcements and the winners of The Game Awards’ biggest categories.

2024 is almost over, so it’s time to update our backlog with this year’s best games. Jake and Sam pick the 10 games they most want to play (and actually see themselves picking up). They also discuss Microsoft’s “This Is an Xbox” campaign, The Game Awards’ 2024 nominations, and their impressions of Astro Bot and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Review

The brothers took a company retreat just to review Super Mario Party Jamboree (and test their friendship in the process). They share their impressions of the newest entry, highlight how it improves on Super Mario Party, and pick their favorite minigames. They also discuss the closure of Concord studio Firewalk and Jake’s impressions of Metaphor: ReFantazio.

Building a AAAA Horror Game

In the spirit of Halloween, Sam and Jake build the first-ever AAAA horror video game. This one-of-a-kind experience is crafted from the best elements of their favorite horror games. Come listen to what they throw in their magical cauldron, from Outlast’s protagonist to Bloodborne’s narrative to Alien: Isolation’s survival combat.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Review

Nine months after the release of Rocksteady’s much anticipated “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” Jake sat down and gave the much-maligned live-service shooter a fair shot. Was it as bad as everyone said or is it an underrated gem? Is it successful as a live-service game? He answers all of this and more.

3D Platformer Draft

Astro Bot is reportedly one of the best 3D platformers in years, giving the brothers an excuse to celebrate one of their favorite genres with a draft. Jake and Sam compete to build the best team of 3D platformers, including many Mario games, PlayStation mascots, and more.

The Mourning of Concord

Jake and Sam are back! After a few weeks off due to moving and travel, they return to catch up on everything they missed, including the launch and quick shutdown of Concord. And they have something to say about it!

Our Most Anticipated Games of All Time

It’s a big episode for the Super Mosher Bros. Not only is this their 150th episode, but it is the last episode recorded while Jake and Sam live together. To ring in the sentimental milestones, the brothers get sentimental and count down their most anticipated games of all time.

Concord Impressions

We know it may surprise many gamers, but Jake and Sam are excited for Concord, PlayStation’s next big multiplayer release. They explain why by breaking down the game’s beta, how it scratches a multiplayer itch different than Overwatch, and why the discourse around its $40 price is unfair.

We Create Video Game-Themed Cruises!

The brothers continue riding the high from their cruise vacation by creating video game cruises, complete with themed activities, meals, drinks, restaurants, and excursions! Do you want to experience a Professor Layton mystery, Cuphead casino, and Pokémon fine dining on the high seas? This is the episode for you!

The chaos of Summer Game Fest has settled down, which means it’s time to review our predictions and see who had the better foresight. The conclusion of Summer Game Fest also means it’s time to get excited for the second half of 2024. To channel that hype, the brothers draft their most anticipated titles for the rest of the year!

Nintendo Direct June 2024 Review

The brothers were expecting a quiet final year for the Nintendo Switch, and this week’s Nintendo Direct proved them wrong. They break down their thoughts on Nintendo’s major Zelda, Mario, and Metroid reveals and how 2024 stacks up to other years of the Switch.

2024 Ubisoft Forward Review

The brothers break down the 2024 Ubisoft Forward and weigh its failure as a showcase against its success in previewing Ubi’s two big fall titles: Star Wars Outlaws and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. They provide a “heat check” on those two titles and EA’s big fall release, Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
