Video storytelling is a sandbox. The possibilities are as wide as your imagination, and the final story is only as good as your creativity. My video experience showcases these possibilities, and it includes broadcast packages, enterprise stories and social media teasers. Below are some of my favorite videos I’ve created. More of my videos can be found within my multimedia stories.

California passed a law in 2015 that regulated what kind of eggs could be sold there. That had an impact in Missouri, which exported about a third of its eggs to the Golden State. But there were other impacts, too: A lawsuit, a second lawsuit and in some cases, a new business opportunity.

The story behind this piece demonstrates my resilience as a reporter. It is very difficult to get access to a chicken farm due to fear of contaminating the coop. Still, I worked tirelessly to obtain media access. After days of reporting, I received permission to film in a chicken farm and an egg processing plant. The result is an enterprise video story rich with detailed b-roll and concise reporting.

NicDanger series- “A Love for Music” and “Making a Song”

Columbia rapper NicDanger has opened for big acts like Snoop Dogg, Kevin Gates and Machine Gun Kelly. But NicDanger has yet to turn his love for rapping into a full-time job. KOMU's Sam Mosher shows us how his passion keeps him going anyways. (This video was a project for J4804 at the University of Missouri - Columbia.)

Columbia rapper NicDanger and sound engineer Tim Hanson talk about the making of a song. (This video was a project for J4126 at the University of Missouri - Columbia.)

Columbia rapper NicDanger has opened for big acts like Snoop Dogg, Kevin Gates and Machine Gun Kelly. Despite these accomplishments, he’s yet to make rapping his full-time job, but these videos show his drive to do so. These videos also demonstrate my ability to develop two story angles from the same subject, shoot elaborate multi-shot sequences, use natural sound in video packages, experiment with camera placement and shoot video with pleasing composition.

Did you know there are 470 impaired water systems in Missouri according to the Department of Natural Resources? This means the waters of 470 creeks, lakes, and rivers are polluted and do not meet state water quality standards. Watch Department of Natural Resources environmental scientist Chris Radcliffe as he tests Boone County's impaired Fowler Creek to study its pollutants.

This video demonstrates my ability to produce short, engaging videos for social media. As all social videos should, it can be viewed and understood with or without sound. It presents interesting information to the viewer and invites them to check out the full story. In this case, the full story is about water pollution regulation in Missouri. I was also able to shoot, write and edit this video in a short amount of time, as I am more than capable of working under a one-day deadline.
